Acts 2:45

Nothing that I have is mine. Nothing that I own was truly bought with my own money. Nothing that I use is mine. Everything that I have is the Lords. I have recently realized that I have been very selfish with many things.  I want things to happen when I want them to. I didn’t realize this because I thought my time was best to get things done and accomplished. My problem is not that I collect many things. It’s that the things I have I need to be willing to share and give away because none of them are truly mine. The part of this verse that really touched me was “they gave to anyone who’s in need”. This doesn’t mean just giving to homeless people or folks that have just about nothing. I believe it means to share everything that you have with others. I have realized that at times I can be very stingy with my things. I think to myself “I made the money to buy this food so I don’t want to share because I need to make it last as long as I can.” This thinking is not that bad, but when I abuse it, that’s when I can get selfish with my things.

Application: Starting with today I am going to give things away to people who are in need. If my sister needs a shirt to match her new pants or something of that sort I will give her something of mine.

Acts 2:43

Where there is one or more, God can use them to fulfill anything he sees that needs to be done. God used the Apostles to do the miraculous signs and wonders. They did as the Lord asked. Although if they were not in the Lord’s will, he may not have been able to do through them what he wanted to accomplish. If we are in line with the Lord following him daily and praying to the Lord he can use us too. That’s actually his will for us. But, if we aren’t in his will how is he to use us? He can’t, well God can always use us but the best comes when we lay ourselves down and when we are in his word daily. If you fall away from reading his word and talking to him through prayer, you may start doing things that are not pleasing to the Lord. If you are not in God’s will than you will fall into your own selfish will. Although you may be in the Lords will and living for the Lord we do hear others sometimes say things they shouldn’t and because we are around them than we might make a mistake and say something we shouldn’t.  There is grace when you make a mistake.

Application: Today I will say sorry to someone who heard me say something that I should not have said. I will take this situation and set new boundaries in my life so that I do not get to that point of frustration.

Acts 2:42

The followers of God devoted themselves to the teachings of the apostles. Devoted themselves..hmm they were constantly trying to follow the roles and devoted everything to honor him that the Lord has set before us. He gave them to the apostles to share to other believers to know how to live for the Lord. As they devoted themselves to the apostles teachings they fellowshipped amongst other believers. They broke bread and prayed. My thought on them praying would have probably have gone like ours. They may have prayed for strength to study what God is saying to them, help stay out of sin, and possibly help bring others to the Lord. I a way I wish I was in the Bible times just so I could experience the Lord is the way they did. God calls us to fellowship with other believers. He says to do this so that we can gain encouragement, not be tempted by unbelievers, and get prayer for one another. I encourage you if you don’t already; find a weekly Bible study to go to fellowship amongst one another.

Application: Today I will make sure all my homework is done that way I can fellowship with my friends (brothers and sisters) tonight after dinner. I think we should play…umm that card game!

Matthew 5:19

This is such a powerful verse. God is saying that if anyone who proclaims the Lord will go to heaven, but those who speak against him will parish. The Lord says this because it is such a great thing to proclaim God so that all can go to heaven. But if you speak against the truth, and proclaim that it’s false you aren’t just leading yourself into hell but also others. The Lord wants everyone in heaven, although there are many people who are against him. I encourage if you are not for God (Jesus), than research him. If you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and believe that he is the only way to heaven than when you die you will go to heaven. Many other religions believe there are things you have to do to earn heaven. This is not the case. All you need to do is ask Jesus into your heart as the only way to heaven.

Application: Today I will everything I say glorifies the Lord. I will filter everything I say and to to the Law of the Lord Jesus my God.

Matthew 5:20

The Pharisees were really good at following the rules of the Law. But they did not do things to give honor to the one who made them. They also didn’t have a relationship God; they did things to have the world look up to them. It is useless to do these things and not give honor to the Lord.

If your heart is not devoted to God or believe in him, than you won’t be able to inter into the kingdom of heaven. If your righteousness in not in the Lord and following what he wants for your life, than you won’t be able to have the best that the Lord has for you. If you do good things but don’t give honor to the Lord it is worthless and you are just doing the things for yourself. But if you give honor to the Lord he will honor that, and you will receive great blessings in heaven. But! Don’t do it for yourself, do it for the Lord.

Application: Today I will give honor to the Lord in everything, especially if I’m being praised for doing something. I will say “Praise the Lord” and RFA (ready, for, anything). I will do this to remind myself that whatever I do, I do it for the Lord and he is the one who gives me power and strength to get through everything I need to get through.

Matthew 5:18

How often do you make pinky promise with the best of intentions, but sadly end up not fulfilling it? I man one of the many people who make that mistake. Think about another question. How often do you go back to erase what you write. Whether or not you made a mistake writing, changed your mind on the way you wrote something, or you just changed your mind on something you said on paper you would accomplish? I have done this many times. I have written a to-do list only accomplishing part of what I originally wanted to do. Here in this verse the Lord is saying that he will not take back any of his promised to us. God will not erase anything from his list nor forget to fulfill any of his promises to us. God is perfect. If he ever lied to s or didn’t fulfill something that he said he would, that would make him imperfect. But he is! He has never broken any of him promises to us.

The Lord is also saying that until he has fulfilled all his prophecies and everything that he has to do, he will not make the heavens and earth disappear. The word disappear in this verse is talking about the rapture of the church. The church is everyone who is a follower of Jesus. All who are saved go to heaven.

Application: Today I will make sure I complete my to-do list. I will also be sure I will not make a promise unless I am 100% sure that I can fulfill it. J

Matthew 5:17

The time in this era they looked up to the Prophets. They look up to them in expectation to know what will be a prophecy and see it happen. They looked up to the prophets like how we look forward to Revelation to occur. The people’s hearts were hard to the fact that Jesus was there with them. Jesus is warning them that he has come not to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them. Wow this is so awesome how God works. He tells what he’s going to do then do it showing how faithful he is by fulfilling what he said he would do. The Lord will always do what he says he will do. We must trust in the Lord will all of our hearts knowing that he will do what he says he will. As you bring things to the Lord he will teach you and guide your steps. If he created you, he must know the best way for you to go. It not be easy at times, but the Lord will come through and shine his light.

Application: Today I will bring something to the Lord, Trusting in him that he will help me through it and trust in him to guide my steps in the right direction.

Matthew 5:16-20

Picture this: I am a child of the Lord’s, but no one understands how I can be one. They don’t understand because I’m basically the same as them. I go to parties. I’m rude, don’t care about anyone’s feelings and I’m nasty. What kind of love of Jesus am I showing to the people around me? None, I’m not shining my light of the Lord to these people like God asked me. Living in this kind of life and not trying to fix it will not bring very many people to Christ. If I turn my life around for the better, than I may have a greater chance for the Lord to use me to bring many people to Christ. They will start seeing a change in me. They will see how I love them how the Lord loves them even more. The harder I work at being a true child of God the brighter my light will shine.

Application: Today I will shine my light. I will encourage others like the Lord encourages me through his word. I will also try to give then a verse that can also encourage them.

1 Corinthians 9:27

Everyone has sin’s that get to them. Everyone has those thoughts that grow into wants that grow into strong desires, ending causing you to do hem even though you never wanted to do them. Once you put yourself into that though of wanting to do something you are pretty much tied up in the though not able to stop it from exceeding. (2 Corinthian 10:5 …bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.) I myself have been in this situation where my thoughts grow into wants, then desires, that finally lead up where I’m finding myself in the sins that I never wanted to be in before I thought about them. I had to beat my body to overcoming the temptations of not doing the sins that lured me in. I took captive of the sins that I was doing recognizing that I didn’t need to do them. Now that I have given them up, it is much easier to live for the Lord. (Exoduses 20:3”you shall have no other gods before me.” Now that I am not in bondage to my sin it is so much easier to share the gospel to others. I can’t go around sharing god’s word to others if I am not even doing what I have been told of god.

Application: Today if I see someone doing something that I have learned from I will comfort them on that topic and share with them what the Lord taught me. I will do this so hopefully they can see that they too can learn. The reason why the Lord allows struggles to happen to Christians is so that we can comfort others. If we confer unsaved in their hard times they may be able to come to Jesus knowing that they have someone to help them through their hard times.

1 Corinthians 9:26

I am so glad that I am a child of God. If I didn’t have a will to live or a reason to do anything I’d be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I am so blessed that I can to know the Lord. I am so very thankful for everyone in my life who spoke the truth to me. Because I am saved and am living for my heavenly father I am so glad that I have a real reason to live. I live for my God who dies a terrible death for me on the cross. A man who was perfect without any sin to die for me whom sins daily. I am so in love with my heavenly father and very thankful for all he had done for me. Because I have something to live for I do not have to run aimlessly around doing things that will not be any worth to my life. when I do have troubles I have god here to help me through them. I do not have to fight like a man beating the air. I don’t have to fight for no reason. I will fight with a purpose for the Lord.

Application: Today I will find a way to fight for my Lord. I will stand up for what I know is correct, In doing so I pray that I can lead someone to Christ.

1 Corinthians 9:25

Pasta, energy drinks, nutrition bars, no drugs or alcohol, day in and day out, pace, fast, speed, focus, race, beat, win. All of these words describe one thing, The Olympics. When I think of the Olympics I think of people eating the healthiest foods that make them the fastest as possible. They work out and train day in and day out. When it comes down to the race they do is focus on self-gratification to win. They want to beat everyone else who’s trying to win the same thing. They do it for the crown!

The sport I think of in the Olympics is swimming. I love the swimming competitions. I watched a girl Megan Ramona from my high school miss the final race into the finals, by less than a second. It hurt her; she was so close but yet too far to win the prize. Did she work hard enough she thinks to herself. Did she give it her all? She worked so hard, but thinks to herself it wasn’t good enough. Unfortunatly she was racing the race for the earthly prize. When Paul speaks this verse I believe he wants us to learn to race the races in life for the Lord. Racing to win affections and items here on earth will fade away. Think about this for a moment. A man wins the Olympic game one year and he becomes the most wanted person in America. Everyone wants his autograph and want’s to meet him. But the following game comes up four years later and there’s a new guy who wins. Everyone’s affection leaves the old winner moving on to the new guy that one. Soon the old guy is forgotten. Usually this concept repeats unless the winner makes it into the hall of fame where he will be remembered for ever by people on earth. The thing is, is where ever they go when they pass away, no one there will care that they won the Olympics. So race the races for the Lord, do everything you do for the honor of someone who will last forever. Do the race to get the heavenly prize.

Application: Today I will race the race to win the prize in heaven and to win the affection of God my creator. Today if someone does something for the Lord I will congratulate by encouraging them that they are wining prizes in heaven.

 1 Corinthians 9:24

Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

This verse speaks to me in a very strong way. I need not to race for the earthly prize but race for the heavenly price. The human desire is to win. In return the winner gets an earthly prize. That prize may be a trophy. This trophy could break or get stolen. Money. Money that can cause you to buy things you shouldn’t, or lead you into greed. Or you may win a car. A car that a few days later you may crash. None of these things you can take with you to heaven or hell. Where ever you go when you die. Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not beak in and steal.” What’s worth more a heavenly reward that you’ll have forever or an earthly prize here on earth? If you race the race to glorify the Lord your prize in heaven will also show here on earth. The Lord will bless you here on earth with all you need. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink: or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” The Lord provides for all the animals

Application: Today I will start by not storing treasures her on earth. I will not collect many things that I have over the years. Such as Hello Kitty, Sponge Bob, Dolphins, stamps, fossils, shells, leafs, and many more that I can’t think of right now. I also am not going to dwell on what I’m wearing. I won’t spend very much money on my clothes. I will start shopping at playto’s closet, Salvation Army’s, and thrift stores where I can find awesome and cheaper clothes. I can say since I have been here at Potters Field I no longer really care about what I wear. Although God does say to look well put together, not sloppy. And praise the Lord for all he is teaching me.

1 Corinthians 9:22&23

The Lord went down to a servant’s level to share God with many men in John 13. There are many places throughout the bible where the Lord Jesus gets down to human level. Even in the gospel you see that God sent his son into the world with horrible sinners to share his word to us. In many cases he gets way lower than he should as a servant. Think of a king now a days. Would you ever he him bow down to anyone but himself? NO, way. I don’t think so. Jesus gets down to each of our levels to witness to us or to lead us further in a relationship with him. The Lords not telling us to do what they do. He doesn’t want us to get drunk with drunker's to witness to them. But he does want us to get down to the level to weakness and share with the week. If the Lord calls you to go share his word into a town or country that is deep into physical and noticeable sin God says you are to go and share his word with the people. No matter how dangerous it may be. For example in the movie “End of the spear” Nate Saint dies after a man from one of the tribes kills him because he felt in danger from the American people. They thought John was going to kill them because they also killed his sister, which turned out being false. Towards the end of this movie the tribal man came to Christ after seeing what he has done to a man who was trying to share Jesus with him. In their culture if a man killed another man the son has the right to kill whoever it was who killed his father. But john’s son did not kill him because it would mess up the witness of the Lord.

Application: Today where ever I go I will do my best to get down to someone’s level to share Christ with them. But since I am stranded on a beautiful mountain with “all bros and siss” I will scoop down to someone level and serve them and show them Gods love, gentleness, and helpfulness.

Philippians 3:11

When I die I won’t be dead forever. I will be living in heaven with my creator. I will feel no pain. No sorrows. And no heart breaks. I will praise Gods forever and ever because I know that he is true. You can only attain resurrection from the dead by God alone. He has the power to do anything. Because of our sin we cannot get into heaven. But Jesus loved us so much that he sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins so that we can live in a perfect place with our creator forever. Now that I have accepted Jesus into my heart I have been made perfect in his eyes. He no longer sees me in my sinful state. He sees us a child of his. He sees me as someone who is trying to be like him and growing in him. The Lord wants us to do our best to be perfect. This is indeed impossible because we are humans. God knows that we can never be perfect, so this is why he sent his son to die for us. Many people think perfection is the way to attain heaven. The problem with this statement is that no one can be perfect, other than God who has always been. The reason why God wants us to do good things is so that we can shine his light, his kindness and love to all people. How much more welcoming is it when someone is kind than someone who is nasty. We (Christians) need to share the Lords light, love, and kindness where ever we go!

Philippians 3:12

Before, I came to now Christ. He pressed on to let me know what he did for me on the cross. He pursued after me like a cat chases a mouse around the house. He soon caught me at the age of seven when I fully understood what the Lord did for me. Sadly, I fell away from the Lord in my teens years, again he pursued after me. He wanted a relationship with his daughter. He wanted his little girl back, so that he could bless her with the best life possible. He wanted to do this so that she wouldn’t fall into anymore of satins lies. Now that I am on fire for the Lord I will stand up for what I know is right. I will pursue the Lord. I won’t let the satin get a foot hole anywhere in my life. I will pursue a stronger relationship with my Father in heaven.

Application: Today I will try to find a way to earnestly pursue the Lord in an intimate way so that my relationship will get stronger with my savior.

Philippians 3:10
Wiped, mocked, tortured and carried his own cross to Golgotha hill. Golgotha the place of the skull. This is where Jesus would be crucified for our sins. Wiped to the bone. Mocked and ridiculed to the heart. Betrayed by his very own people. Blood…blood rushing through his veins, pouring out of his hands, feet, and pours spilling onto the floor. I, the very one who cursed, crushed, and scarred him. Because of my foolishness, wickedness, and sinfulness I put him on the cross.

Does knowing all of this mean i really know God? No of course not. Even satin knows God. Knowing Christ is reading his word and praying (talking) to him daily. Knowing the Lord is fellowshipping with other children of God about what he has done for us and what he is doing in our lives. It’s knowing the power of Jesus resurrection and sharing with others of him suffering.

Application: Today I will bring light to the world through god. I will not let resentment take over my friendships.

Philippians 3:9

What is faith? Faith is being sure of something that is not seen and having the faith that you know it is true. I know that there is a God. Although I can’t see God I know he is real because of all the evidence that points towards him.

I see him by faith. I see plants, animals, insects, and people scurrying around, surviving together. I can see everything working together to survive. Without plants nothing can breathe. Without bugs our back yards would smell like rotting animals because they will take too long to decay without bugs eating it up. I can see planets, stars, and the sun and, moon magnifying Gods glory like a perfect painting that’s been painted in the sky. I see people trying to find a reason why they live. If they only look around and see how specifically everything has been put on earth for.

I understand how complicated everything is and how it all works together so profoundly. I can see that only an all-knowing God who stands outside of time could create a beginning and an end. I know that he made everything that was and is and is to come.

Faith is knowing that the Lord will fulfill his promises. Hebrews 11:11 By faith Abraham, even though he was past age-and Sarah herself was barren- was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. Here you can see that the Lord made a promise and Abraham believed and had faith in the Lord that he will give him a child. Through that faith of the promise the Lord provided him and Sarah a child even at their old age.

Application: Today I will try and encourage someone to rely on the Lord by faith even if they feel like it’s impossible to have faith in the situation that they are in. I will also ask the lord to help me rely on him by faith more than I have been.

Philippians 3:8

No longer do I want to do the things of this world. I see now how the things of this world can be such a strong hold of a distraction from my relationship with the Lord. The devil knows it too and he will take any little flaw in me to distract me from him.

Everything that I have lost and gave up is to show that I am the Lords. There’s a better life than drinking, smoking and partying. That life is in Jesus Christ my lord a savior. He saved me from the pits of hell so that I can life in heaven with my creator forever and ever. There are many things that distract me from the Lord. I consider all of it rubbish, because I have made the ultimate sacrifice to lose everything here on earth to gain all in heaven. I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

Application: Today I will review my lessons diary. I will decide whether or not I have learned and mastered all of them. The ones that still need to be worked on I will do so. I will also pray that the Lord shows me what else it is that I need to work on.

Luke 17:10

If I am at work and I work six hours a day five days a week I should not expect a thank you from my boss every day. That would be kind of silly her telling me thank you for just doing my job daily like I should do. If I want to keep by job I should do all that I am commanded to do. Likewise my Lord expects me to do everything I am told to do to the best of my abilities. I’m not going to just slack around not doing anything at work. I am an unworthy servant that does not deserve to go to heaven because of all the rotten and sinful things that I have done. When my boss does tell me thank you I appreciate that, but at the same time I am just doing my job that I was hired to do.

Application: Today I will do what I am told to do with a happy heart.

Luke 17:9

As servers of the Lord we must not expect a thank you when we do something. We are to do all things unto the Lord. If we expect a thank you, than we are doing it for our own self-seeking measures. The Lord put us on the earth to live for him and to worship him.  Every human has an urge to worship something that’s why non-Christians have a hard time finding something they are worshiping does not unsatisfied. There aren’t worshiping the person they were created for. If we aren’t worshiping God than we are worshiping maybe music, opposite sex, cars, sorts, or anything else that distracts you from only worshiping the Lord (Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other god before me.) God honors your praise to him. If you are living for the Lord and are in his will, than you will receive blessings. You can only receive blessings if you are in the Lords will. (28:1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 all these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.) When serving the Lord you need to dye to self. When dying to self you need to put others before yourself. There are 5 things you need to do in learning how to do so. The first is to do Task after Task that is given to you. Get in a mindset of after finishing one thing you are then to go one and do another. Second you should not exact a Thank you from the person you are assisting. You must do it unto the Lord. Third don’t think that the master (person telling you to do something) is selfish. If you start thinking your master is selfish because he doesn’t thank you for doing what you are told to do, you will end up thinking ill of your master. This can end up very bad, like without a job. Fourthly do not get prideful when you do the three above lessons. This can lead into being very judgmental of others. Lastly this is Christianity (101). Basic Christianity is not allowing anything above happen. It’s laying yourself down all for the Glory of God.

Application: Today I will do many things and not expect a thank you from them, because all I do I do for the Lord. I will also work on memorizing the 5 steps in dying to myself.

Luke 17:8

The Lord says many times and times again to do as he has told you to do. The Lord will often have you wait for him on something. When you pray to the Lord he won’t always answer your prayers at the time you want. God answers prayers at his time because he knows the best time for you to know. For example if you go to the Lord and ask him for a new car because yours is about to break down. The Lord may make you wait and learn a lesson before he gives you a new car. He may have given you the lesson because you did not change your oil or take better care of your car and it would have lasted longer. I have learned this lesson recently. I have always wondered why the Lord wasn’t answering my prayers. But now I know that the Lord does it in his time not mine. I do get a little restless waiting on the Lord to answer my prayers. Haah, but that’s another lesson that’s to be learned. I must be Patient. (Psalm 37:7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him..) I have learned that I need to not just listen to the answers that I want from the lord but listen to the ones that the lord may be rejecting.

Application: Today I will ask the Lord to give me peace about waiting for him to answer my prayers.

Luke 17:7

I have always though how easy my life would be if I had a servant. Someone to clean my room, wash my dishes, vacuum the house, mow the lawn, take out the trash, do my homework, run my errands and do all my random things I need done. But the more I thought about this desire the more I though how lazy would I be if I actually had one. What would I ever be able do?

The only thing’s that would possibly be left to do is to hae fun. As much as I love having fun, I’m sure I would get bored eventually. No wait I could never get bored having fun…what am I thinking, wait yes I could. I even get bored towards the end of summer break because I’ve done everything. Haha.

Anyways I’ll try to relate this back to my IBS, if I had a servant I would want to be kind to her, prepare her a meal every once in a while. I’d want to reward her for all the hard work she did for me. I would not want to treat her as if she was my slave. She would be more of an assistant to me. She would be a friend and I will share Jesus with her and disciple her and show Gods love to her.

But on my other hand, my selfish lazy body would want to lay around while my servant made me food, even though she did a bunch of work for me all day.

Application: Today I will thank someone for serving me and explain how thankful I am for them. I will also try to return the favor and go out of my way to serve that person.

Luke 17:6

How many times have you thought to yourself that you wanted help from the Lord but you didn’t ask him because you thought the request was too small or to big? As your thinking this could you maybe be putting a limit to God? There is no limit to God. He can do all things. If he can create such complex creatures that can adapt to weather changes and are all kinds and different sorts. And if he could create you and me the most amazing complex organism on this planet then God can help you with anything that you need help with. If the Lord can create such complex living things he can defiantly help you with you problems. Lately I have been working on trust issues. For example I have been having a hard time trusting that when someone says they love me that they really do. Sometimes I feel so alone. I’m not though I have so many people that love me. There are many other things that the Lord has been teaching me. I have learned that no matter what I’m going through I need to take them up with the Lord and ask him for help. (God says in Matthew 17:20 …if you have as little faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “move from here to there and it will move.) Nothing will be impossible for you. Here the Lord is talking to his people.(the Christians) the Lord says we don’t need very much faith at all to do the things of him. As long as you are in the Lords will you can do many things. WOW our God is so powerful that he can pass on his powers to us.

Application: Today I will ask the Lord to strengthen my Faith. I will ask a friend to pray with me, so that they are aware of what I am praying for.

1 Corinthians 13:8

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Love will never fail or decay away. My love for the Lord now will never fade away it will extend into the gates of heaven. The Spiritual gifts will go away; they won’t be needed in heaven. The love Jesus has for us will never ever go away. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world...) This verse doesn’t say that For God so has hope in the world. Or For God so has faith in the world. Hope and Faith will go away once we are in heaven, but Love will always be there. The Lord will always love us. God gives us prophecies here on earth; they won’t be needed in heaven. We won’t need to have any hope of going to heaven because I will be there. I won’t need to have any more faith that the Lord is real because I will be in his presence. The Lord gives some of us the gift of knowledge, but he says that will go away. We won’t need and gifts of knowledge because we will be all knowing once Christians inter the gates of heaven.

Application: Today I will share my Love for the Lord with someone. And I will also share my love with that person to them. I Love all people because God first loved them.Today I will share my Love for the Lord with someone. And I will also share my love with that person to them. I Love all people because God first loved them.

Acts 2:44

44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.
I think it’s a blessing that these newly saved people sold their possessions and goods. They gave to anyone in need. The lord says do not hoard. (Matthew 6:19-21)19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. I believe he has multiple meanings in this verse. Do not collect many things you do not need. Do not heat more that past being fill. i have a small problem collecting many things. i have learned all it does is clutters up my room. it can get very frustrating. so i am learning that there is really no reason for having all the collections i have. i will start by collecting one a few different things.

Application: Today I will work on not collecting things that I do not need. I will have a plate of food and I will wait 10 minutes to eat more to make sure that I am still hungry.

1 Corinthians 12:4

Through the Holy Spirit you (Christian) can do many things. The Holy Spirit pushes you to share Gods word and what Jesus has done for us on the cross. He’s our helper when we don’t know what to say to the unsaved. Let’s be Bold for Christ. If I can see you be excited about star wars, coffee, a boyfriend or girlfriend, music and hanging out with friends then I want to see you be excited and bold about the lord. Acts 5:29-31 the lord gives everyone different gifts. They can be speaking in tongs, prophecy. But they all come from the same spirit, the spirit of the lord. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ you have received the spirit. Here’s a story I have for you. There once was a time when I was out street evangelizing. I was so pumped with the Holy Spirit and I came across a young kid about 17. So I started a conversation with him. We ended up talking about Jesus for about an hour and a half. Yes if you’re wondering he accepted Christ as his lord and savior. You know the coolest part? I don’t remember half of what I said because the lord was speaking wright through me. It was so amazing, and such a blessing to see how the lord used me to share the greatest gift with that young boy, I encourage you all do not be afraid to share Gods word. You may be afraid at first but I promise, for me my nerves went away right when I started sharing about the lord. He can use anyone and trust me its so powerful! A cool thing is when your sharing God’s word people may ask you something you don’t know, but then you can go research it and learn more. This helps you grow in your walk with the lord as you sharing. It’s the best!

Application: I will pray for the unsaved that their eyes will be opened to the truth. I’d also like to pray for a gift of the Holy Spirit if it’s the lords will.
1 Corinthians 13:5

Love is not rude, does not boast, not easily angered, and it keep’s no record of wrongs. This verse speaks to me in such a strong way. Wow Love keeps NO record of wrong doings. This is such a strong statement to me. If you hold on to a wrong thing someone did to you than, that’s not loving that person. If you hold something against someone because they hurt your feelings than you will be holding a grudge against them and that does not show love. If you say you love someone but yet you’re very rude to them that person won’t feel that you really love them. Being rude is a very disrespectful thing to do. Love fixes a problem and moves on. If you love someone you should defiantly not be rude to them. If you are a selfish than that will put a very hard strain on the relationship. In a relationship whether or not it’s a friend or a couple when the people are selfish and don’t work together on things than the relationship say not last. Two people need to work together and compromise with one another.
Application: Today i will go out of my way to show love to others. I will specifically do something to show love towards someone.

1 Corinthians 12:11

Spiritual gifts are all from one person. He is the Holy Spirit. He gives spiritual gifts as he chooses. If you ask the lord for a gift in faith he will give you one. Gifts are only given to the lord’s people. They are to glorify god. Therefore an unsaved person does not glorify the lord so he will not use gifts for the lords’ glory, so he may not receive a gift. Although the lord gives everyone an early gift saved or not people can either choose to use them for the lord or not. Such as being a good singer, leader, teacher, and things of that sort.

I have been thinking a lot about spiritual gifts for a few months now. So, today I think I am going to ask a pastor or man of leadership to pray over me to receive a gift to glorify the Lord.

1 Corinthians 12:7

The lord is totally doing a work in my heart. I can feel him stretching and pulling me. Although once he has stretched me he tightens me back together as he testes me. He is teaching me so many things. With everything he is showing me there, is no way he is not real. There is no one who can tell me what I believe is not true. He’s the big brother I have always wanted someone to learn from and protect me. Except God is so much more than a big brother. He’s my daddy and lord. He died on the cross for my sins so that I can go to heaven and live with him forever. Everything that I do I want to glorify him. I want to do good and be as good as I can. I want to do this not to earn my way to heaven but to do it to glorify and thank the lord for what he has done for me. The reason why the lord gives Christians spiritual gifts is to glorify and honor himself. I’m glad he does this because he deserves all our honor and praise. Spiritual gifts are to be used for good not selfish evil reasons. If someone has the gift of healing he is to heal under god’s name. Not as himself a magical power. It is for him who the gift to point up to god as having the power to heal and passing it on through the godly man to do the lords work.

Application: today I will work very very very hard with the help of the lord to be loving and kind to all and bring all honor to the lord.

1 Corinthians 12:3

Once upon a time there was a girl. She felt so alone. When someone hurts her she would just run away from the problem so that she could block out the pain. Her room was her castle where she goes to hide. She cleans, organizes, and rocks out to country to push out the pain. Over time this only hurts her more. Being alone and holding things in can never be good for the beautiful girl God created her to be. She felt so alone. That God didn’t speak to her. She recognized that the lord was showing her things. But she didn’t see them as the Lord answering her prayers. She thought of them more as coincidences. She desperately wanted the lord to speak to her. She dances and prances around like everything is just fine. Although deep sown inside she is struggling. She loves the lord but feels like something is missing from her relationship with him. As she reads the word she doesn’t fully understand it to the depth she wants. She wants more from the lord. She thinks to herself relationship with him. As she reads the word she doesn’t fully understand it to the depth she wants. She wants more from the lord. She thinks to herself could the missing part be that I don’t have the Holy Spirit? As she’s lying down on her floor she says yes yes I must have the Holy Spirit because I claim Jesus is Lord. I want to honor him with my life. For the next days she wakes up everyday morning, disparity praying that the Lord will fill her with his Spirit.

Application: after breaking down and talking to a 2.0 I learned that the Lord does speak to me. The lord’s voice doesn’t always have to be loud and in my face to hear from him. I hear from him, trough reading my bible, and through other people 1 king 19:12, after the earthquake came a fire, but the lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.) Today I will listen out for the lords still voice and I will confront people when I need to talk with them, than just letting it go.

Mark 8:38

To me this verse means anyone who is ashamed of god/Jesus and his words in this sinful world Jesus should be ashamed of them because he has been the ultimate witness. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins so that we won’t parish but have everlasting life in heaven forever. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Anyone who does not believe in him they are ashamed and think the Christian religion is silly. I believe Jesus is ashamed in them because they have not opened their eyes to the truth. They are blinded. Jesus will honor and glorify his father with the angels forever and ever. There are many Christians that are ashamed of the gospel and get very nervous when it comes down to share the gospel to others. These people need to think about what god has called all his men are to do, he wants us to share the word to everyone we come in contact with. Jesus’ people are the light in this dark world.

Application: I will not be ashamed of my salvation! I will stand up for what I know is right. I have lived through hard and good times and learned the only way to get through them is will the comfort in Jesus.

Mark 8:37

How far of an extent will you go to exchange your soul for pleasure on earth? Is the drunkenness, drugs, lying, stealing, pride, selfishness, gossip, anger, sexual things before marriage worth loosing you everlasting soul over? No, it is not worth living 60 years in sin that causes hardships, than having a great life on earth and having an even better life in a perfect place forever in heaven. Many people think they can be saved and live in sin at the same time. This is not the case. The lord can’t work through you if you aren’t for him. Do you think you can live a life in sin and show a godly example to others? Christians are to stand out from others (non-saved). We are to set a godly example, by loving others, obeying the 10 commandments. The lord gave us guide lines to follow so we can decide right from wrong. Dark and light can’t be in the same place at the same time. If you are saved (a follower of Jesus Christ you will want to do your best not to sin because you want to honor your savior (God). Sin turns you further away from God. Once your saved you will still get the selfish desires to sin (because we are all human) but the lord is with you and helps guide you the right way. He sends you the Holy Spirit to help you determine wright from wrong. He gives you a sense of guilt when you do wrong so you will repent and turn away and learn your lesson.

Application: today I will follow Jesus with all my heart! I will never turn away from him because I do not want to go back to my sinful selfish desires. I want to filter my life and everything I do through the lord. I will do this through prayer and let him lead my footsteps.

Mark 8:36

Why? Why do people care so much about being popular and having the most friends or fans? Because, People want to feel welcomed and loved. Humans thrive off attention and being welcomed. Most! Celebrities are not saved, or at least have absolutely no fruit in their life. They walk around with flashy clothes; make p, and turning themselves into living Barbie dolls with plastic noses, lips, face lifts, and other things that you can use your imagination on. They must feel so empty, looking for the next best party to crash. I know if I don’t spend time with the lord foe a day I go crazy. I start thinking about myself and what I can do to satisfy me needs. I feel like I’m missing something. I am, I didn’t spend time with my best friend Jesus. What good is it if I gain the whole world, yep lose my soul. What is it? Selfish!? Is it something that I do not want to do. I much rather live in heaven, a perfect place with my creator for eternity once I die then to live 70 years being the most popular, rich, sinful person. I do not want to live in a fiery pit forever. I do not want to loose my soul for ever because I wasn’t to spend only 70 years in my made up heaven here on earth. (p.s. my heaven is absolutely noting like the heaven God created for me once I die). Mine would be self-sintered, full of sinful things that will eventually lead into a possibly early death.

Application: today I will not be self-centered. I will go out of my way to help out a friend. I will not give any attention to myself.

Mark 8:34

Following the Lord is not always going to be a jolly jolly thing. We are always going to have hard times. The lord does this to strengthen us, so that we can lead others when they go through hard times. It also shines a light to the unsaved seeing how we deal with these trials and cry out to God through our pain. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and being and being a child of god he may bless you. God has done so much for me. He gave me great friends, family, and great people here at Potter’s Field. The lord gives us an option to follow him. He did not create us as robots making us love him.

Application: I will follow the lord and pick up my cross always, and I will take on all my troubles with the lord.

Acts 2:45

The ones whom got saved took communion. They sold their possessions and goods, and gave to anyone who was in need. They devoted themselves to the Apostles teachings. Everyone was filled with awe. Many signs of wonders and miraculous were being done by the apostles. Many people were saved and they were giving things away to the poor. They were together everyday in the temple courts. People are always on the run and never have time to sit down and doing things together like eating at the dinner table.

Application: I would like to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and show others the Love that Jesus has for everyone. I as the follower of the Holy Spirit will follow and devote myself daily to serve Him.

Mark 8:35

There are many people who are very selfish and love their sin. They get so caught up in smoking, drinking and doing things before they are married that they start lying to their close friends and family members to hide their sin. This can get them so caught up in doing things for themselves that they forget about the people who really care about them. Doing these things actually draws people away from them. They wonder why they can’t keep any Godly friends and why everything in their life is going wrong. These people have nothing to look forward to, they are so caught up in darkness that they can no longer see the light. Sin leads to destruction. (****) one tiny thought may lead to doing the sin. Doing then small sin like taking a friend makeup without permission can lead to wanting things from a store, which can lead to jail. Going to jail can lead you to loosing trust in friends and family. Not having friends and family not wanting to be with you may lead to suicide. (This is an extreme example). If you don’t stop at the thought of the sin it will be hard to get out later on. But there is a Jesus whom died on the cross for OUR sin, while we were still sinning! If you treasure your life on earth you will loose it forever, but if you deny your selfish ways and live for God you will live in heaven forever! Coming to the Lord will not make anyone perfect, because Jesus is the only perfect man. That’s why7 he was able to pay the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Once you accept Jesus into your heart as the only way to heaven you will have the amazing hope to live in heaven forever once you pass away. Heaven is a perfect place where sin can not get in and that’s why we have to accept Jesus into your heart before you die. Once you die and your saved the Lord will look at you as perfect and allow you into heaven. J then no one wants to go to hell a torturous place e=where the worm never dies and the Fire never crinches.

Acts 3:8

Constantly I have been asking the Lord to give me an amazing zeal for him. To work towards being more like him, to honor and glorify him through everything I do, to do things and help others without wanting to receive thanks. I am so extremely excited because the Lord is answering my prayers. It is so amazing to me that that the Lord knows exactly what we all need to learn during the same class or lesson he will speak right to each one of us personally. I love it so much!

I have learned that I don’t have to be at a church concert, church service, or at church to have the zeal for the Lord that I desire. All I have to do is pray that the lord gives it to me. He will give it to me as I wish. I have learned that I don’t need to be excited about the lord just because he is answering my prayers. I can love him and thank him outside of him giving me things and answering my prayers. I have always known this, but I have never really thought about it. The lord is so working on me and I am so crazy happy for it.

Application: I pray that the lord will teach me something today and I will work on what I learn daily.

Acts 3:7

The lord is so kind. When we are broken he helps us up, he guides us through our hard times. He sends his Holy Spirit to comfort us through the time when we are in need. (Instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong) WOW the lord is so powerful. He can instantly cure someone if it’s him will. The lord allows pain and suffering because he is so merciful. If god would put a stop to sin and pain, he would have to put a stop to you because you sin and may have caused pain upon someone. Sin is anything you say, do or think that breaks gods law. Have you ever lied, or used gods name in vain? Have you ever thought in your mind that you hate anyone> have you ever done something that your authority told you to do? All these things are sin. It you have done all of these that means you are a lying, murderer (because hating someone is considered murder in your heart) disobedient person who deserves hell because you cant get into heaven without perfection. Once you accept the lord as your savior he cleanses you with his blood, and in his eye you are made pure.
Acts 3:6      All I have to give.   Feb 4-2013

This verse reminds me of how I should live my life for the lord. Silver and gold I do not have but the best gift that I can give to the lord is my life. I can give him my life by listening to his plans he has for me and following them. The lord created me therefore he has the best plan for me. Think about pinocchio for a moment. His creator had a plan for him, but he kept lying and basically changed his plan towards himself for what he wanted. The lord wants us to seek him with everything we have. He wants us to lay down ourselves to follow what he has for us. God is our ultimate creator and he has our best desires in plan because he’s our creator. As you seek the lord you may also receive blessings, because as you seek him you will be in his will to so. The lord is so good! As I pray to him, he speaks to me. The lord can only speak to his people (Christians). The reason for this is because nonbelievers have not received the holy spirit(gods voice in us) once a nonbeliever believes Jesus died on the cross for their sins, and accepts him as  the only way to heaven, and confess their sins they will be a child of god and get to live in heaven forever once they die.

Application: I will follow the lord’s plans for me today and fully focus in class and communicate back to the teacher throughout the class.

1Corinthians 13:6

Love tells me it is finished, he accomplished what no one could, he has done it all! Everything has been made complete, in him I belong, he has done it all. (Andy Cherry. He has Done it all) wow this song just came up on shuffle on my I pod right after I asked the Lord for focus and show me what Love is.
Jesus dying on the cross is the most amazing gift I have ever received and ever will receive. He paid the ultimate sacrifice of my sin. There was no one else who was perfect who could die for my sins. When I was in sin and not following the Lord but said I loved Jesus I was wrong. Love does not delight in evil. I couldn’t love Jesus if I wasn’t following him. Now that I am following the Lord I want to be more like God. I am working so very hard to honor him and not do things that I know I shouldn’t do. I praise the Lord every day and thank him for all that he does in my life. I thank the Lord for the things he teaches me. I think sometimes it’s hard for people to grasp the love of the Lord because they are in sin. They are blind to the truth. I am a believer and I will take a stand for the Lord. I rejoice in the truth. Rejoice- to feel or show joy or delight. I rejoice that the Lord is still alive, alive in my heart. I rejoice that he loves me. God’s Love is the most True Love possible. God is perfect therefor he does not delight in evil. He is not selfish, not rude, not easily angered, and he doesn’t hold are sins against us if we repent and ask for forgiveness. I want God’s love.
Application: Today I will ask the lord to show me something new, that way I can rejoice in him thanking him for all that he’s doing in my heart. I will share with someone what the Lord is showing me.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Attention! Earlier today a young girl was taken from her home in the small town of Gainesville Florida. She was last seen wearing a pink flowered jacket over her purple tank top. She is wearing blue jeans and red wizard of oze looking slippers. She was last seen playing on the playground in the back yard. She is 4 years old with blue eyes and blond hair.

The father looking through the window into the back yard, visualizing his little girl swinging on the playground, crushed him because she was not to be found. The replaying sound of the little girl crying out “daddy daddy come play with me constantly played over and over in his mind. What can I do for her? I need to find my little girl. I need to help her. I need to find my daughter before anything else happens to her.

The dad cries out to the Lord. “Dear God I can’t do this on my own. Please keep my little girl safe. There are cruel people in this world lord, but I know you can do anything. Lord I know you can bring her home safe to me. And Lord…please keep my family up strong through this trial.”

Later that night the little girl was not found. So the dad left the home with a flashlight and two of his guy friends to go on a search for his daughter. He searched for her night and day for the four days. She was nowhere to be found. “Dear God, I have the Hope and trust that you will bring my little girl home”. Please lead my foot steps to her Jesus. The dad kept persevering looking for his daughter. He lived out in the woods taking two hour naps then waking up searching for his girl. The Lord saw his hope, faith, and perseverance in looking for his daughter. Even though the dad thought he failed in protecting his daughter he loves her so much that he protects her with the faith that the lord will bring her home safely.

It’s been 5 days since the young girl has been missing. The dad is on his way home and stops by his dock where his boat is parked to sit on it and pray to the Lord. He prays the words of the bible. Once he finishes his prayer he hears little footsteps coming from behind him. They are getting louder and louder so he turns around and sees his little girl walk towards him with a big smile with not a speck of dirt anywhere.
Wow what faith the father has in searching for his little girl. he focused on the Lord through the hardest time that has ever happened in the life of being a father.

Just as the little girl’s father loved her the ultimate Father in heaven wants you! He perseveres after you, wanting you to trust him with your life. God wants you to put your hopes and want in him and let him lead your life. Will you give all to the Lord who created you?

Application: I will trust in the Lord with everything in my life. I will do anything he says because I know that he has the best plans for me.

IBS John 15:1

He planted me in my mother’s womb.
Before I was created he knew who I was going to be. He knew what I looked like before my parents did. He knew I would deny him before I would love him.

The Lord is my ultimate doctor who heals my brokenness. When I am lost in this world he’s the only one knows where I am to be found. When I am dry he fills me up and he carries me through my high and lows. When I am down he picks me up. He clothes me and provides for me when I have no place to go. He guides me and protects me from the rushing waves of sin that tares my soul. Cools me down when I’m burning. He loves me through anything I do and I know his love for me will never change. He feds me daily with his word, through his creation, and others around me. As I grow physically he grows me spiritually. I love him so dearly. And I will never let this love go. I am the vine, and my Father is the gardener.

Application: Today I will love the lord.

                                  John 8: 35    Feb 15/2013    IBS
The Lord loves us so much that he will take us as we are clean us up and care for us. Matt 11:28 come to clean me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. He takes us out of our sins and we become children of God. We as Christians are Gods sons and daughters. If we truly love the lord we will be him children forever. Slaves of sin do not have to be in their sin, they may choose to escape it. Now a son will be part of the family forever.
A servant may be loved in the home of a family and may have a really close relationship with each other. But the relationship between a father and him son or a mother and her daughter related through blood flowing through their veins is a much stronger physical relationship. A son will always be his mother’s son whether or not he wants to. A servant can be dismembered from the family at any point in time.
Application: Today I will call my mommy and daddy telling them how thankful I am for them. Thank them for everything they have thought me and done for me daily as I grow.

John 8:34                             Feb 14/2013                       IBS

Everyone who sins cannot be accepted into the presence of God. He is perfect so sin cannot inter the presence of heaven. Therefore because you sin, you cannot inter into heaven. But God made a way for his people he created to have an option to receive him as their savior. If they do so they will be able to spend eternal life in heaven with God forever. The lord sent his only son to earth to die on the cross for our sins. Every single person who sins is a slave to sin. They nailed the Lord to the cross! That means everyone is a slave of sin. Say for example you steal from the store. You are a slave of satan because you are allowing him to use you for evil doings. You must repent of the wrong thing you did to become unslaved of that sin. The lord does not want us to stay slaved to sin; he wants to see us come out of our selfish ways. The lord wants to have a one-on-one relationship with every single person of this world.  When you are so lost and caught up in the darkness of this world it so very hard to see Gods light. Where there is light you will find no darkness. I urge you to think about what the lord has done for you on the cross. Do you believe Jesus died for your sin? Do you believe you are a sinner? If you do than pray! And ask the Lord into your heart as the only way to heaven. The lord is so good. There is nothing you can loose from accepting God into your heart, but you will lose your soul forever in hell if you do not accept the Lord as your personal savior.

Application: Work on the things that my pears say I need to work on. Today I will be a light of the lord, I will complement something to each one of my inters that are here with me.

John 8:32

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, him son, purifies us from all sin.

Man…the things I used to know. The things I used to do. Pleasure in the moment but, guilt forever. Wait…Forever No way. The lord has forgiven me and set me free. Free from all my baggage. He gives me a new mindset. So that I may have a fresh start in him. All the things I didn’t really want to do, but did anyways. I gave into pear pressure. 1 Corinthians 15:33-34. God is so powerful he can set me free, and if he can do it for me he will do it for you. As I read the scripture the lord shows me so many things. The most recent one that he has reminded me of is not to dwell on my past. I still remember it, but I don’t have guilt any longer. I think the memory is good in a way because it shows me that I rather have the life I have now. Walking in the lords footsteps, not mine is the Best way to go!

                Application:

The Lord has set me free! Today I will not dwell on my past. I will look forward to what the Lord has for me, and I will keep praying that the lord reveals things to me. Will learn from what the Lord tells me and apply it to my life.

John 8:31                              Feb 2/11/2013

So many young men and women grow up in the Christian church. They say they are Christians. But are they? Not all, whys this? They don’t understand that they can’t go off their moms’ religion; they must have faith on their own. You can’t be the lord’s disciple (follower) if you don’t have your own relationship with the lord. You must have your own trust in the lord to go to heaven. God knows everyone’s heart. Who is for him and who is against him. He also knows who is old enough to understand how to him or deny him. I have a dear friend of mine who has been raised as a Christian but is not living for the lord. This person states that they are saved and they go to church on Sundays. But at the same time they are living their life as a non-believer. She/he says out late   partying and living with people who are not of the lord. I tried my hardest to be a light in this person’s life, but it was so hard being the one trying to live by the lord, but being around unsaved people, who don’t have the same wants as I do. As the verse in 1 Corinthians States in 15:33, Do not be missed “Bad company corrupts good character”. Come back to your senses ad you ought and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame.

Application: if I feel like the lord lays on my heart to disciple this person I will do a one-on-one. Today I will mail off a letter to a friend. Sharing what the lord has been doing in my life and witness to him.

Acts 3:9                               Feb/7/2013

If there is anyone who can’t see the lord in work through this crippled man, whom is now walking and praising god, than their hart must be so hardened towards the truth of what god did. The lord knew that peter and john would be going to that temple at that certain time for prayer. But did god tell these two men that they would be praying over a crippled man to become healed? I don’t know. The lord may have spoken to them and told them to do this, or maybe they just decided the temple to pray and worship the lord. Either way the lord always knows the plan of what will occur. The lord knew that they would be passing him but using god’s name and power through peter to cure the man. In verse 9 it says when “all the people saw him walking and praising god, later on it also says they were amazed at what had happened to this man. For me the key word is ALL. I believe all means saved and unsaved people. This opens up the biggest door to witnessing. In our day if I see a opened door to share god I will jump right to it. For example when I see that someone has a cross around their clothing or on their clothes I ask them what it means to them. Then I will go into telling them what the lord did on the cross for their sins. Going back to the chapter 3 in Acts and if we pretended we are in that time what could we say to the people using the crippled man’s story to bring people to the lord? Well we could ask peter how he had the power to do such a thing? He would most likely say “it was not me, the lord used me as a tool to get his work done to heal the man.” We could also say like this mas was healed the lord wants to heal you of your sins.

The Holy Spirit is always doing such a great work. We can see in this chapter the many things he is doing without his name even appearing. He’s the one doing the work and pointing back to the lord.

Application: today and forever more I will work hard to work together allowing others to speak first and myself second.

John 8:33

This verse is very interesting to me. It interests me because Abraham’s dependents are Christians. They are saying that they have never been slaves of anyone. I believe that they are taking the words “set free” to literally. If you read the verses around verse 33 of John 8 you will/ or should find that Jesus is talking about being set free from sin. When someone accepts Jesus into his/her heart they become like a new person. That is now of the lord. When I was in sin, and not living for the Lord I had pain every day. Not physical pain, but emotional pain that almost felt like it was causing physical pain. The pain I had was revieling the sin in my heart. As a desirable thought and stung me with the harsh stinger. Then as the venom moves through my veins causing me much despair. The sin is my fault, but the devil does take my weakness and tempts me into deeper thoughts. As time goes by I tend to lose my patience and get really frustrated with everyone. This causes great hardships in my relationships with family and friends. It hurts very bad! I feel so alone in a desert with snakes tempting me. I was slaved to sin, but I am now set free.
